I’m telling stories of how God provided for Lesley and me as we tried to put him first in our lives.
In 1981, our old Vauxhall Aviva broke down beyond repair. We had no money for another car and our commitments made life without one very difficult. The only thing we could do was pray.
About two weeks later, after quite a bit of inconvenience, a young couple from church called at our house one Sunday. They offered us a cheque for £1000 to get a new car. That was a very sizeable sum for those days, maybe £4000 in today’s money. It was enough to get a car for us and our two pre-school sons, a bright red Sunbeam Talbot. As on many other occasions, God provided for our needs.
One of the amazing things was that they gave with a massive smile. God loves a cheerful giver! And they too have found that God has provided for them as their life has gone on.
